Questioning the products in your refrigerator after a recall is a normal response whenever word of salmonella contamination becomes public. How do you know for sure that the eggs on your shelf are safe? Often the solution is to toss anything questionable in the spirit of “better safe than sorry.” With a new tracing system, the Food and Drug Administration may have the tools necessary to say for sure what eggs are contaminated.  Continue reading →

On the heels of allegations of assault in a New York nightclub, Lindsay Lohan has new legal headache on the opposite coast. Earlier this year in June the troubled starlet was involved in a car accident where she rear-ended a dump truck in Los Angeles. The conventional wisdom is that most accidents occur at home or very nearby. It’s a saying that does hold water. Most car crashes happen within five miles of a person’s home. About 52 percent of people who are involved in a crash are just a few miles away from their place of residence. Daughter of the late, great singer Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, learned this statistic the hard way.  Continue reading →

The weekend after Thanksgiving is one of the most traveled days of the year. People pile into the car to make the trek over the river and through the woods, or however they get to their loved ones. Usually, the only thing that gets in the way of the holiday fun is traffic. On one Texas highway, the high number of travelers contributed to a huge wreck of over 140 cars, dozens of injuries and at least two fatalities.  Continue reading →

Despite how poorly this car parked, it’s your fault if you hit them in the parking lot (Photo credit: elgringospain)

Brace yourselves because Black Friday shopping is coming. As much as shoppers groan about lines, crowds and lack of sleep, there will be millions flooding stores across the country as soon as they shake off the tryptophan induced grogginess. Before getting to the mall, shoppers have to first find a parking spot in the garages and endless lots of asphalt ringing retail establishments. Considering the reports of trampling and brawling over deep discounts, it’s reasonable to think that fighting for a strategic parking position might cause an accident as well.  Continue reading →

If you read enough about car accidents,  then you’ll find that often enough the cause of the accidents was usually something trivial. Either the driver was glancing down, thought they had more time before the red or, in some cases, they mistook the accelerator for the brake pedal.  Continue reading →
