An actress that once appeared on Melrose Place was convicted of vehicular manslaughter for driving drunk and killing another woman with her SUV. Amy Locane-Bovenizer, 40 years-old, was acquitted of the more serious charge of aggravated manslaughter, but her bail was revoked and she was jailed immediately following the guilty verdict for vehicular manslaughter. Both the General Motors owned Buick and Chevrolet as well as Toyota owned Scion have issued recalls today due to issues with air bag deployment and safety. The model year 2012 Buick Verano, Chevy Cruze and Chevy Sonic have problems with the driver’s side frontal air bags. The model years 2012 and 2013 Scion IQ also have problems relating to the air bag improperly deploying.  Continue reading →

Over 12,000 2013 Cadillacs are being recalled for failing to comply with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requirements. The head restraint apparently doesn’t meet standards and could be dangerous enough to cause an injury in the event of a car accident. The issue only pertains to the rear seats. Continue reading →

Today is the last day of California Highway Patrol and the National Sleep Foundation’s anti-drowsy driving campaign aimed at educating drivers young and old about the real dangers of driving while drowsy. In 2010, a man who was so overjoyed his wife successfully beat cancer that he decided he needed to thank the church that received his prayers in his family’s time of need.
